12/26/2023 0 Comments Enter the gungeon beast modeUsually i would just give you some important hints to deal with struggles in the early game, but if you seeked out help and didn't find any after such a long playtime. your struggles aren't normal and if anything indicate a problem on your end, not the developers. it does take usually alot of playtime to finish the final boss, but that playtime averages out at around 50 hours of playtime. Secondly, Your Problems with the current difficuly:ġ60 hours of playtime and never even having reached the final floor is not normal. you might aswell just change the difficulty curve of the entire game (which seems to be dodgerolls conclusion given their plans in the next big update) be too careless and instead of hard mode you create a frustration mode (which does exist in EtG), be to generous and you'll lose your playerbase as people can play easy until they're bored and aren't challenged. In summary, it is very hard to implement different difficulty modes for games. i for example really dug that game but haven't played it in the roughly 2 years of my ownage of RoR, because it was too frustrating and not rewarding enough to git gud at the game as i felt i already achieved everything. However, this ease-in tactic isn't as effective as im making it out to be, as there is still a huge gap between easy and normal mode, instead of actively learning you can also jst die and restart until you got all the logs which you need to collect for this special char and once you do, there's little insentive left to play the rest of the game. there is one character who then requires quite alot of farming on the normal difficulty, which means that, if the player wants to unlock this character, which is a powerful one so the insentive to do so is there, he/she will have to change from easy to normal. the increase in difficulty is done over time, so there are minimal changes between each difficulty aside from the speed at which difficulty increases. so while you unlock the content of the game you organically learn the mechanics of it in a mode dedicated for this situation. the catch is you can unlock them in easy mode once you figure out how. There are many classes in RoR (Risk of Rain) which have to be unlocked. Tl dr: poor implantation of an alternative gamemodeĪ much better comparisment would be a game called ''Risk of Rain'' which has a pretty well implemented easy mode. better items also become rarer and i've seen your playtime on TBoI, so you know that this tweak for the item spawns mostly means getting moms pad in your first item room and brimstone barely if at all. So aside from the rewards being sh!t there's little insentive to play ''hard'' anyway, because all that hard mode adds are more frequently spawning annoying enemies which give less rewards. there's no reason to play the mode aside from unlocks for the coop mode which most people don't even care about. This has been requested a long time ago and theres still demand for a lower difficulty level, HOWEVER it IS hard to implement such a thing.
